Is control an idol in your life? Do you put your need for control above building your relationship with God?
When our minds spin with our relentless need for control and compulsive planning, it's hard to stay grounded and take time to talk and listen to God for direction. When we are so preoccupied with controlling things in our lives, we unknowingly make this need and drive for control an idol in our lives which leaves us feeling burned out and overwhelmed.
It's hard to admit, but sometimes it's hard to allow God to comfort us and experience His rest when our need for control and "doing" is so strong.
We all have a loving Father who wants to make Himself known to each and every one of us….Who wants to wrap us in His love and His presence and give us the confidence and peace that only comes from Him. Today's episode unpacks this a bit and helps us remember what God wants to give each and every one of us. I hope you join us for today's episode!

Today’s world requires us to be “on” all the time. To keep up a pace that leaves us with moments where we crash and burn, full of stress and overwhelm, leaving us feeling completely depleted and like we aren’t doing good enough. It’s a vicious cycle that many of us are caught in and don’t even realize.
There’s no grace for slowing down. How are we supposed to function from a place of abundance in the middle of all this chaos?
Many of us recognize the importance of kindness, and as moms, it’s a quality we want our children to learn and exercise toward others. Still, when it comes to ourselves as women and as moms, we neglect to extend that same kindness and compassion to ourselves when getting through our days.
Practicing self-kindness involves speaking to ourselves with love and compassion. Understanding that mistakes are part of life but that they do not shape our identity and who we are. Juggling the responsibilities of a working mom is challenging, yet constantly criticizing ourselves and feeling inadequate makes it feel nearly impossible to function the way God created us to live.
Our lives are made up of both big and small reactions to the circumstances of our lives and we need to be diligent in calling upon God’s word and leaning into His truth outside of ourselves and individual circumstances. The Lord asks us to be faithful to Him.
He asks us to be faithful to Him in what He has given us. So for us as working moms, this means being faithful as a believer, as a woman, as a wife, and as a mom. We have a Savior who chose to do life with us and to help us along the way which is so beautiful.

May we all be working Moms, who first and foremost seek God, and learn to care for our souls so we can pour into others in more genuine, graceful ways.
Today’s episode is all about choosing love and joy and how we can show ourselves more kindness as we move about our days.

The start of the new year brings about some natural emotions in all of us. Some of us find a newfound sense of motivation, others of us spend time looking at our lives and making new goals for our selves.
We spend a lot of time and energy thinking about what we want to be doing better, how we can improve, and everything we want to change. And while there’s genuine value in that, I think it’s also important to take some time to sit in reflection. We go through life so quickly. So often we find ourselves moving through our days at lightspeed and we don’t take time to sit and reflect.
Reflecting on the past year, the highs, lows, and everything in between has a lot of value. It's a treasure chest of learning and growth and a place where we can sit and meet with God.

Reflecting on your personal experience and setting clear goals out of that reflection time will increase your self-awareness and improve your chances in succeeding and showing up the way in which you want to. It also opens up space for you to acknowledge all the good that you bring to this world.

Before you start going crazy with resolutions and goals, I want to give us permission to take a few minutes and spend some time in reflection today, to help us sit in gratitude for everything that’s been given to us, and maybe even things that have been taken away, so we can feel at peace moving forward in the new year in the direction we know we want and need to go.

Life is going by in lightspeed. Sometimes, depending on the season we are in, we feel better about that reality than other times. When we are doing life so fast, it’s hard to enjoy the present and live in gratitude…whether we are in the holiday season or not.

The art of slowing down, and implementing slow living in your life is a concept that I work within my coaching and I believe it’s something that all of us can attain no matter who we are and our circumstances. It’s all about making small and steady changes to your daily life. You don’t need to worry about changing your lifestyle drastically overnight.
Slow living is more about making your life easier and more enjoyable.
Cultivating an atmosphere for you and your family to live a more balanced life, where it’s easier to acknowledge the world around you and what and who you have in it. But usually when and if we actually get around to making some much needed changes, Mom-guilt likes to creep in.
So that is what we are unpacking a bit today. How to invite more slow living into your life. A life where you are building a more meaningful and conscious lifestyle that is more in line with what you value most in life without feeling the dreaded weight of mom guilt. I want to affirm you in making little changes that actually make an impact helping you live more in the “present”.

When we are weary and we are doing too much, it has a tendency to affect every area in our lives and it’s hard to be motivated to keep up with the good. The enemy wants us exhausted and tired and burned out.
So, how do we get a leg up? What are some ways that we can take intentional action?

Today's episode gives 4 Simple Ways that can help you Transform the Way You Feel and Give Your Soul Rest.

How many of us find ourselves constantly caught up in the whirlwind of daily life? We wake up early, rush to get our families ready for the day's demands, manage work, juggle household chores, and shuttle our kids from one activity to another. It's overwhelming. It's a never-ending cycle of commitments and responsibilities. I see you, because I've been there too and depending on the week, I openly confess that I very much live out this reality at times too.

Today, we are unpacking this layer by layer and talking about intentional things we can do to help change the way we feel…from exhausted and overwhelmed to feeling more rested and present in the day to day… to creating more space…essential space - a space where our souls can be truly fed and replenished. Take a walk around the block or cozy up on the couch and join me for the next few minutes as we uncover simple and effective ways to fill the void so many of us are feeling and find the fulfillment we've been seeking so we can move from feeling tired and burned out to feeling truly aligned and energized within the work that God has called us to.

How do we know confidently that we are doing what we need to be doing in the season that we are in?

We all go through different seasons in our life with the time that we are given. Some seasons are filled with drive and ambition, some seasons are filled with us being in survival mode, other times we are in seasons where we are functioning on autopilot and going through the motions of the life that we have created for ourselves. Different seasons find us in different places throughout our life, and as I’m getting older, I’m realizing more and more that that’s OK. When we look at our lives as a timeline, we realize that our lives consist of seasons, and nothing is guaranteed to stay the same.

With so many responsibilities and commitments, we are left having to ask ourselves…where does that leave us? Where is our anchor, what should we focus on? Where does our time and energy really need to go?

I hope you’ll take the next little bit for yourself as I take a few minutes to unpack and hopefully leave us all feeling a little more encouraged.

Why do things happen to us? Why does God allow things to happen to us? All of us at some point go through things in this life that will never make sense. And I think it’s often our response to these big, unexpected happenings that are completely out of our control that determine where we end up in this life. It’s pretty much guaranteed that we will all have times in our lives that we will need to rely on others more than ourselves and that we will need to live out our faith in ways that we never ever wanted to if it were up to us.

In these hard times, I am trying to cling to what I know to be true and focus on that…but it’s hard. It’s hard for all of us - no matter who you are … no matter what you are going through to do that…and that’s why this life requires so much faith. BUT it’s HARD. It is so evident…especially in times when there is nothing we can physically or mentally do to change our circumstances, that we find ourselves unable to do this life on our own. And we were never created to do it on our own. Each of our own circumstances proves that to be true every single day that we are given. But when these times come, where do we go? What do we do? How do we know that what we are doing is the right thing to be doing and walk in confidence and peace? I’m trying to figure this out as I speak and I am welcoming you to come alongside me as you and I together in a transparent way, try and fill more of our space with how God desires for it to be filled.

This life is overwhelming. This life is broken. This life and the world in which we live is not our home. There is so much sadness, and so much sin, and so much destruction and devastation in this world that we get consumed with all these things that we so easily neglect our eternal jobs in which we have been given.
Tomorrow is not promised. My family and I know this statement to be all too real. The unimaginable has happened and we are finding ourselves swimming in so many questions and uncertainties.
Being a working mom is now more real than ever for me.
I don’t know anything except that God is faithful…even when we have lingering uncertainties, even when our prayers don’t align with our desires in our heart, even when we are suffocating with doubts, even when we are swimming in fear...God is faithful. And the only things I am confident in is His steadfast love for us.
